BASICS

CANON. legion (fx)
nb. i'm very familiar with marvel comics, but the avengers + street-level vigilante side of things, not x-men, SORRY
my knowledge of the mcu + fox x-men is ... poor. if you play from (x)mcu, you can take me on a journey — all this to say, i'm more than happy to incorporate general 616 canon into threads, but i can't as organically do the same with the mcu and/or fox x-men movies.
CANON POINT. for memes — flexible! vibes, innit. (generally towards the end of s2/pre-s3 — aka cult daddy david, but not necessarily Let Me Rewrite The Timeline and Erase This One david, but tbh canon point will vary depending on the thread/tone of cr.)
AGE. mid-thirties
APPEARANCE / VOICE. 6'0"; lean; (very) blue eyes; dark blonde/light brown, often messy, hair. he favours mostly slim-fit tops with high-water pants and doc martens (in assorted colours, but most commonly black leather with yellow laces, or blue suede with blue laces). tbh the most consistent thing is that david generally looks like every other guy in his 30s that was really into indie in the early 2000s.

BRIEF BIO.

david is an incredibly powerful omega-level mutant with various psychic abilities (see below). these manifested when he was a child, starting off as relatively minor — teleportation and telepathy mostly — before becoming unmanageable for david. the manifestations of his abilities were presumed to be auditory and visual hallucinations and delusions, and he was diagnosed with schizophrenia. over the course of his adolescence and into adulthood, david alternated between being compliant with taking his medication and attending appointments, and attempting to self-medicate via substance abuse.

eventually, escalating drug use, a violent assault on his doctor, as well as a break-up, all led to a suicide attempt, and david was entered into care at clockworks psychiatric hospital, where he was a patient for between five and six years.

THINGS HAPPEN and it's discovered that his apparent schizophrenia is... not that! he's a mutant with the power to read minds, move objects, and warp reality (amongst other things)!
(spoiler: this turns out to only be partly true. he is both a powerful mutant with all of these abilities and also mentally unwell.)

david can be charismatic (if not odd), incredibly dedicated and attentive — connections and being wanted is incredibly important to him and integral to his sense of self and stability — however he can be both inadvertently and deliberately manipulative, can and will ignore boundaries (both physical and mental), and is prone to being very selfish and self-centred. emotionally immature with poor emotional regulation, he'll lash out when angry, although quite how this looks depends on the nature of what's upset and destabilised him.

for what it's worth, at one point, he forms a cult and insists on being called "daddy", so. you know. there's that. that is who david is.

he also had the consciousness of amahl farouk, the shadow king, sharing his body and manipulating him up until the age of ~30, which also didn't help with david's perception of reality, ability to trust his own memory, or general sense of agency.

CANON CW.

drug use/substance abuse, sexual assault, violence + murder, (attempted) suicide, cults, various topics surrounding mental health - primarily schizophrenia but inclusive of depression and references to DID.

david's schizophrenia is often dealt with in a genre-typical manner — legion is a marvel property — but I certainly don't seek to minimise it at all. please comment here to opt-out of the character either in full or in part, no questions asked!

ABILITIES

DAVID is horrifically overpowered, and so i'm very flexible with what he's capable of in order to make a thread enjoyable! his abilities include telepathy and memory manipulation, telekinesis, reality warping and matter manipulation, teleportation, astral projection and levitation.

at no point will i have david use his powers without ooc permission!

PHYSICAL AFFECTION.
yes, although david will make it known if it's unwanted.

FLIRTING
yes. david can and will reciprocate, but canon-point depending, he's exceptionally self-absorbed and fails to consider the perspectives of anyone else, but wanting to be loved (sat alongside a fear of abandonment) is central to david, so... you know. flattery goes a long way. this said, how interested he is in a general sense will thoroughly depend on whether he thinks he has something more important to deal with.

SHIPPING
predominantly m/f from a character perspective, but on an ooc level, ota (25+) basically dependent on vibes. writing chemistry is the biggest influence for me.

yes, but david will 100% prefer to fight with his powers than physically, however! he is not above fighting dirty with his fists and can and will be brutal with it. (he is not squeamish). however, he's not trained in any way, so yk, all else being equal, it's not difficult to best him physically.

PSYCHIC ABILITIES.
AS MENTIONED david is disgustingly OP, so i am very willing to work on what is and isn't possible! the later his canon point, the more difficult it would be to effectively use psychic abilities against him, but please just hmu, we can figure something out — i'm not interested in having david being the most powerful guy in every room, and as of s3, his hubris is a frequent stumbling block, so!

BACKTAGGING/PACE. yes / variable — text threads i can be much faster with (and even boomerang, timezones allowing), but i do have a preference for longer form writing. there'll inevitably be one week a month where i'm boomeranging but alas it cannot and will not be sustained
